Where to find Gemini 4 Carbon API access

Gemini 4 Carbon is not available in this website's model picker yet. To check its rollout, begin with the official Google announcement and API documentation, then use our Carbon status page for the current TryCarbon AI integration status.

Where the official information lives

Google's Carbon announcement describes the model and its initial limited rollout. The Gemini API model documentation is the place to check developer-facing model identifiers and capabilities. Those pages answer different questions: an announcement explains the release, while API documentation explains what a developer can request.

The announcement describes access for selected cyber defenders and trusted partners through Fairwind. That is not a public signup guarantee. We cannot approve Fairwind access or provide an invitation.

Is there a public release date?

Google has not published a public availability date in the announcement checked on October 29, 2026. We therefore display “date to be announced” instead of a countdown. A date in a rumor, search snippet or third-party article should not be treated as a confirmed API launch.

TryCarbon AI will also need to test the public API before enabling it. A future Google release and availability in this website are separate milestones. Our status page will identify the model actually connected here.

How to check a claim that Carbon is already live

Look for an exact model name, a clear statement of access requirements, and a source that matches the claimed date. If a product advertises Carbon but shows Argon in chat, the visible model label matters. Ask whether access is generally available or restricted, and whether the advertised features are implemented in that product.

We have verified an API call to gemini-4-argon. That verification does not establish Carbon access. We do not substitute a different model behind a Carbon label.

What you can use while waiting

Argon is our first text-chat model. It supports saved conversations and streaming replies through this interface. For an ordinary writing or code-discussion task, you can start now and later repeat the same task when another model becomes available.

The Argon vs. Carbon comparison explains the current choice without invented head-to-head scores. Buying Argon credits does not reserve Carbon access.

Check Carbon status, or start with Argon chat.
